2022 is the Year of the Lilac through the National Garden Bureau and we can’t think of a better way to ring in
the new year than announcing that the Flowerfesta Syringas are coming to the North American market.

These new dwarf Syringa meyeri come in three colors; purple, pink and white. These compact lilacs are repeat bloomers too, flowering once in the spring and again in the fall.

The Flowerfesta trifecta are exclusively available as liners through Meridian Young Plants. Here is what Ben VanderWerf of JRT Nurseries and Meridian Young Plants has to say about them:

‘Purple’ blooms with a huge bouquet of fragrant flowers held just above the foliage in mid to late spring and again in late summer, followed by sporadic blooms in the gall. The ones we have in the garden are 3′ x 3′. The fresh growth has a a nice darker tinge to it.

‘Pink’ blooms with fragrant, clear pink flowers that cover the plant in mid to late spring followed by another bloom in late summer. They are 3′ x 3′ and have a slightly lighter green coloring to their leaves and the flush is a nice bright green.

‘White’ opens from delicate pink bud to a beautiful, fragrant, clean white flower. It has a strong bloom that is held on the tips of the branches in mid to late spring and sporadic flowers in the late summer. White is a slower grower and finishes a little larger then the purple and pink with a more upright habit and slightly larger greyish green leaf.
