In the issue of March/ April 2017 of the Pennsylvania Gardener there is an article about Weigela. In this article several Concept Plants varieties are highlighted. How cool is that? The article is illustrated with beautiful pictures of a.o. “our” Weigela Wings of Fire and Merlot Rose.

Weigela Colorstar™ Merlot Rose has very fancy, burgundy foliage. This foliage contrast nicely with the dark pink flowers. Colorstar™ Merlot Rose is reblooming from early summer to mid fall. Very attractive for bees and butterflies!

The other beauty is Weigela Wings of Fire of which the foliage color is throughout the year the most interesting feature. In spring, the leaves are green and soon there comes a bronze hue on them. During summer this soon turns to a red glow.  In the autumn this gives a splendid wine red autumn color.
