Rosa Elizabeth Ashley (‘GEUS4611’) PPAF

Shrubs

Description

Behind every plant is a story. And the story behind the Elizabeth Ashley rose is more than special, it is inspirational. This rose is named after Elizabeth Ashley Hoke, a bright young woman who lit up the world with her amazing smile, kind heart and thirst for learning and life. Tragically, she left this world too soon, due to a drunk driver who was speeding and texting on her way to her first week of college. This rose honors the legacy and memory of Elizabeth by providing scholarships and grants for the people and causes that Elizabeth cared most about. This magical rose is as remarkable as the person it is named for. The Elizabeth Ashley rose produces an abundance of eye-catching orange-pink and yellow flowers with a diameter of 4”. It is a more prolific bloomer with more flowers, smaller flower buds and glossier leaves than its parent ‘Pullman Orient Express’. It is also more compact, reaching maturity at approximately 32” tall and 16” wide. To date, no diseases have been detected on this continuously blooming rose, even without pest control. This means it is sure to be an easy care success for the home gardener. Best of all, those who buy  the Elizabeth Ashley rose will know their purchase supports the foundation in her name, providing scholarships for youth to achieve their educational and personal goals.
